Hermitage House – part of the Hermitage Estate, in the Crook o’ Lune between Lancaster and Caton – is a fabulous spot. I spent every summer near here as a kid, at the local scout camp, and still pass by on the cycle path that uses the old railway bridges you can see in the photo.
