What a ‘view from the kitchen’

What a ‘view from the kitchen’ on Saturday! From the edge of the Forest of Bowland – up above Longridge – looking right across central Lancashire over the Ribble Valley towards Ribchester, Mellor and Samlesbury. And what a beautiful sunny day… the 15 ladies attending Hollie’s hen party weekend had a drinks reception with artisan breads and olives outside before sitting down in the lodge for a three course meal:

• Bread baked in Barnoldswick by @theartisanbakers
• Maple syrup roasted Yorkshire pork belly from Cottingley
• Cream cheese and pancetta (or chestnut) stuffed field mushrooms from @organicnorthwholesale
• Port and redcurrant slow roasted Lancashire lamb from Blacko
• Butternut squash, apple and herbs grown at @_growingwithgrace_ on the other side of the Forest of Bowland
• Salmon en croûte with cream cheese, spinach and samphire, brought fresh from Fleetwood
• Lancashire honey roasted rainbow carrots from @riverford
• Molten-centred chocolate fondant cakes and lemon cheesecakes

All cooked and served in one of the lodges at Valley View Luxury Lodges, Longridge, Lancashire.
