Plate stacker performance, perfected. One advantage of living in a town of engineers: my plate carrier broke – I was incredibly nervous lifting 75 plates around in it – and no-one in the UK seems to make or sell them any more (the nearest manufacturer I could find is in Germany which seems a bit crazy to import one item). So I asked local @rtitanium, makers of top-notch titanium footpegs, if they could weld it back together. Tada! All fixed and probably stronger than before.
My home town of Barnoldswick is a community with a proud engineering heritage. My grandad and my dad worked at Rolls-Royce making aeroplane jet engine fan blades – @rollsroycegroup have two factories here – and there are many other engineering companies making top-in-class products including @hopetech (cycle components), @silentnightbeds (mattresses), @esse1854 (stoves and cookers) and, of course, @rtitanium (titanium footpegs). The history of industrial revolution workers and food is a fascinating one (@bbcfoodprog recently did an episode about West Riding of Yorkshire food in Bradford and mill towns up the Aire Valley to Skipton and Barnoldswick), but that’s a tale for another day. For now, I’m just grateful to be able to confidently shift huge piles of crockery around!

This is just one of many insights into my work as a travelling private chef in the North of England. "Where do you cook?" I hear you ask, "I'm looking for a private chef near me".
Well, this example relates to my work as:
