View from the kitchen today: looking out across Ullswater and snowy fells from Hawkhow Cottage, Glenridding. This off-grid holiday cottage is powered by its own hydroelectric turbine just outside the kitchen door, which provided the electricity to cook a 19 dish tapas feast for a 60th birthday celebration.
