Growing with Grace deliver organic veg to me every week and I often pop in to their farm shop on my way to bookings in the Lake District, Cumbria, the Western Yorkshire Dales or North Lancashire.
This was a rare treat – having time on the way home to tour the glasshouses, meet the team and lunch with local volunteers. It was great to see how things are growing – courgettes, cucumbers, tomatoes, onions, French beans, kale and colourful nasturtiums were just some of the crops I spotted on whilst exploring. Returning a stack of boxes was a great excuse to see the packing house and cold store.
This week I’m cooking with freshly harvested patty pan squash, French beans and edible flowers – the pick of their crop as it becomes ready for harvesting.

This is just one of many insights into my work as a travelling private chef in the North of England. "Where do you cook?" I hear you ask, "I'm looking for a private chef near me".
Well, this example relates to my work as:
