The Cook in the Garden! Enjoying a few minutes of sunshine whilst checking on my herbs and harvesting a handful for tonight’s meal. The sage is very happy at the moment, redcurrants are about to flower, raspberries are returning with a vengeance; lots of promising signs on the strawberries; I’ve had a few stalks of rhubarb and they’re throwing up new growth; the plum, apple and pear trees have the beginnings of fruit on them; potato leaves have appeared today and meanwhile the leeks are quietly establishing themselves under the apple tree. Lots going on and always a pleasure.
This is just one of many insights into my work as a travelling private chef in the North of England. "Where do you cook?" I hear you ask, "I'm looking for a private chef near me".
