Day 7: the final delivery of food to aid rest and recovery after a hospital operation – a gift from a lady in the USA to her sister in Yorkshire. This final meal-for-one was dairy-free hunter’s chicken on a bed of mushrooms, with the first of this season’s triplo variety potato wedges, roasted kale and carrots, plus cinnamon baked pears and apples for dessert. It’s been a real pleasure cooking and delivering a week’s worth of meals so that the recipient could rest and enjoy some wholesome, home-cooked food. This final meal was also accompanied by a hamper of fridge, freezer and pantry treats and staples that I shopped for after listening to feedback about the ingredients I’d used.
