They say the wand chooses the wizard… well this knife chose me! Took a day to pop to Ilkley, get my knives sharpened and treat myself to a new Japanese knife at @communitycutlery. The carrot-chopping tests all went fine until I found myself talking too much, waving my hands around (I know, I know) and ouch! – the slightest, lightest cut with an expertly-sharpened blade. Despite being determined that a knife with a mind of its own would not be coming home with me in my now plastered hands, it was by far my favourite and is as light as a feather (maybe there’s a magic feather inside the wooden handle?!). So here we are – a scene akin to the ‘Girl with the Green Scarf’ in another film: Confessions of a Shopaholic, emerging with my new purchase.
