We’re a street of gardeners and a neighbour pushed a couple of cucumber plants into my hands many moons ago (probably when I was trying to convince her to adopt some of my hundreds of romano pepper seedlings). This is one of the many flowers and promising signs of cucumbers to come!
Meanwhile I’m serving the ‘real thing’ – deliciously tasty organic cucumbers grown by professional farmers – in this month’s starters and salads. My homegrown versions will be going into our kids’ school lunchboxes.
